On 6 November 2024, the regular General Meeting of the iVTH was held. During the event, which took partly place in Braunschweig and online, the board of the association was newly elected.
The previous chairman Dipl.-Ing. Kai Greten was confirmed in office, as was the deputy chairman Dr. Klaus Merker (Niedersächsische Landesforsten). New member of the board is Prof. Dr. Joachim Hasch (SWISS KRONO Tec AG). Ms. Dipl.-Chem. Elisabeth Stammen (Institute of Joining and Welding, TU Braunschweig) was elected as the new treasurer.
There were also changes in the extended board. Ms. Anemon Strohmeyer (Verband der Deutschen Holzwerkstoffindustrie e. V.) and Ms. Dorothee Flötotto (Sauerländer Spanplatten GmbH & Co. KG) joined the extended board.
The former deputy chairman Dipl.-Ing. Hubertus Flötotto resigned his position in May 2024. The treasurer Dr. Hans-Werner Hoffmeister and Karl-Robert Kuntz (member of the extended board) were not available for re-election this year. The iVTH thanks the “alumni” for their dedicated service to the benefit of wood research!
In the course of the meeting, the members received comprehensive reports on the association’s work, finances and research projects of the past years.
Following the General Meeting, the 12th Wilhelm-Klauditz-Prize was awarded. More information on the award ceremony will follow shortly.
