Call for Nominations for the 13th Wilhelm-Klauditz-Prize for Wood Research and Environmental Protection
Applications are now being accepted
The International Association for Technical Issues Related to Wood (iVTH) is once again accepting nominations for the Wilhelm-Klauditz-Prize for Wood Research and Environmental Protection. Now in its 13th year, the award recognizes outstanding scientific and applied research in the fields of wood research and wood utilization.
Since its inception in 1988, the prize has honored a wide variety of outstanding work, ranging from emissions, the environment, and health to sustainability and life cycle assessment, as well as materials development, production technology, construction, digitalization, quality assurance, and measurement technology. The prize thus reflects the full spectrum of modern wood research and application. Effective immediately, the prize will be awarded every two years.
We are particularly seeking work that combines scientific or applied technical findings with a recognizable contribution to environmental protection. A high-level award committee composed of representatives from industry, academia, and public institutions decides on the awarding of the prize, which is endowed with 5,000 euros.
Eligibility
Individuals and project groups are eligible to participate. Applications may be submitted directly by the applicant or through a nomination. Research institutions and their affiliated institutes, industry and trade associations, individual companies, and individuals are eligible to submit nominations. Nominations may be submitted from any country. The submitted project must not have been completed more than five years prior to the application deadline. Deadline and Award Ceremony
The call for entries is open immediately. Submissions are accepted until January 15, 2027. The award ceremony will be a public event, tentatively scheduled for April 2027 as part of “Wood Research Day” in Braunschweig, Germany. The decision is final and not subject to legal recourse.
