Harald Schwab is the new deputy managing director

We are very pleased to welcome Harald Schwab to our team as Deputy Managing Director, effective September 1, 2026!

His expertise is of great value to the iVTH. Mr. Schwab brings a combination of practical experience and technical and scientific expertise. At Fraunhofer WKI, he has headed the Quality Assessment Department since 2003 and is also active in the field of standardization. As chair of the organizing committee for the European Wood-based Panel Symposium, he bridges the gaps between science, industry, and trade associations. With him on the executive team, we aim to strengthen the association’s visibility as a modern, internationally recognized research and innovation platform. Future topics such as digitalization, AI in quality assurance, bio-based materials, and the circular economy will be integrated with standardization and industrial applications.
