Dr. Ralf Becker awarded the Wilhelm Klauditz Medal

At the end of 2017, Dr. Becker stepped down from his position as Managing Director of his company Fritz Becker GmbH & Co. KG, but continues to work there on special tasks in company development. At the general meeting of the iVTH in November 2018, Dr. Ralf Becker also relinquished the chairmanship of the Association. Within the framework of the Fraunhofer WKI Board of Trustees meeting on 12th April 2019, he was officially discharged from this committee. Over a period of 25 years, Dr. Ralf Becker was therefore a member of the Executive Board and the Advisory Board of the iVTH as well as the Board of Trustees of the Fraunhofer WKI. After 12 years as Chairman of the iVTH and 13 years as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, he handed over both leadership positions to Kai Greten.

WKI Institute Director Professor Bohumil Kasal took this opportunity to thank Dr. Becker for his many years of valuable support as well as his intense commitment to the iVTH and the Fraunhofer WKI, and awarded him the Wilhelm Klauditz Medal. In his speech, Professor Kasal emphasized the open but consistently respectful interaction with the iVTH team and the WKI employees, which contributed to the successful collaboration over the course of numerous constructive discussions.
