Braunschweig, 6 November, 2024
Dr.-Ing. Hans-Werner Hoffmeister was awarded the Wilhelm-Klauditz Medal on the occasion of his resignation as treasurer of the association. The ceremony took place on November 6, 2024, during the association’s General Meeting in Braunschweig..
The medal, donated by the iVTH, is an award for outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to wood research through their exceptional commitment. It has been awarded since the year 2000 and honors individuals whose achievements have significantly contributed to the advancement and promotion of wood research. The medal has been awarded 25 times to date.
The iVTH honored Mr. Hoffmeister, who was 18 years member of the Executive Board and 15 years member of the WKI-Trustees, with the Wilhelm-Klauditz-Medal for his dedicated service to the Fraunhofer-Institut für Holzforschung WKI and the iVTH. „Dr. Hoffmeister worked at the Institute of Machine Tools and Production Technology IWF of the Technische Universität Braunschweig. As the treasurer, he not only managed the financial affairs of our association with excellence but also was always open for any concerns. His interest in the developments and challenges of our association was exemplary. The members of our association, especially we in the office, could always rely on him“, stated Prof. Marutzky in his laudation. Marutzky expressed his regret about Mr. Hoffmeister’s departure and wished him all the best for the well-deserved retirement.
In the same general meeting, Ms. Elisabeth Stammen from the Institute for Joining and Welding Technology (ifs) at the TU Braunschweig was elected as the new treasurer. We are very pleased that she has taken on this role.
