On the occasion of his retirement from the Executive Board of the iVTH and the Board of Trustees of the Fraunhofer WKI, Dipl.-Ing. Hubertus Flötotto was honored with the Wilhelm Klauditz Medal. The award ceremony took place on 15th May 2024 within the framework of the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Fraunhofer WKI in Braunschweig.
In agreement with Professor Rainer Marutzky of the iVTH, the medal was presented by Professor Bohumil Kasal, Institute Director of the Fraunhofer WKI. Mr. Flötotto had been a member of the Board of Trustees since January 2000, also serving as Deputy Chairman for the last 5 years. In his eulogy, Professor Kasal emphasized the excellent cooperation between the association and the institute. He expressed his gratitude for the many years of valuable support and tremendous commitment from which the iVTH and the Fraunhofer WKI had benefited. Mr. Flötotto, himself a successful wood-based materials manufacturer, had always championed the interests of the wood-based materials industry with outstanding commitment and optimism.
"We very much regret his departure, but are delighted that his daughter is following in his footsteps. We are looking forward to working with her,", emphasized Professor Marutzky in conclusion.
